Sunil Gavaskar, the iconic former India captain, took aim at Mumbai Indians speedster Jasprit Bumrah after a costly moment in the IPL 2026 encounter against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. In the 14th over of LSG\u2019s innings, Himmat Singh was beaten by Bumrah and ended up being caught behind by Ryan Rickelton. Rohit struck a brisk 84 off 44 balls and played a key role in a 143-run start alongside Rickelton, who made 83 off just 32 deliveries.<\/p>\n
With that platform in place, Mumbai crossed LSG\u2019s 228 for five target in 18.4 overs, finishing the chase with plenty to spare and registering their third victory in 10 matches. The result lifted their points tally to six.<\/p>\n
Lucknow, despite putting up a big score, suffered another setback and remained anchored at the bottom of the table. They collected only four points from nine outings.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the day, LSG finally found momentum after being placed at the foot of the standings, with Nicholas Pooran producing the breakthrough. Pooran hit his first half-century of the season, smashing 21 balls worth of momentum into a decisive 63 and helping the Rishabh Pant-led side reach 228\/5.<\/p>\n
Pooran\u2019s quickfire knock powered the innings, while the opening contribution from Mitchell Marsh added further momentum with a 44. In total, it was a noticeably improved batting performance in their ninth game of the campaign.<\/p>\n
Even so, Pant\u2019s personal form continued to be a concern as he could manage only 15.
