Hosein has been central to that improvement, picking up three Powerplay wickets himself. After going wicketless in the first three matches, he has taken 11 wickets across the next seven, and all of them have come in the middle overs (7-15), where he leads the season charts. The wider effect of CSK\u2019s bowling unit is visible in how matches have turned out. In the five wins they have recorded, their bowling average across those games stands at 18.98. In defeats, it rises to 46.25\u2014a swing of 27.27, the second-biggest gap of the season after Delhi Capitals\u2019 65.00. Those victories have been built on the ability to keep things under control: CSK have bowled out Delhi Capitals and Mumbai after setting \u201cpar\u201d totals, held KKR to 160 after posting 192, marked the first successful defense of a sub-200 score this season, and in their most recent two outings they kept both Mumbai and Delhi to modest totals before sealing comfortable chases.<\/p>\n
What initially looked like a campaign drifting off course has been corrected by a bowling unit that has found its rhythm again.
