Captain Babette de Leede will step into the spotlight while carrying forward a strong family cricket line, following the World Cup appearances of her uncle Tim de Leede and cousin Bas de Leede in the men\u2019s game. Speaking ahead of the campaign, Babette said, \u201cWe are super excited for our first ever appearance in the ICC T20 World Cup. It will be a great opportunity to compete with the best teams in the world, and to show the talent that we have in the Netherlands on the big stage. We hope to make the Dutch cricket community proud and to inspire young girls in the Netherlands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Babette also highlighted the advantage of playing close to home. \u201cBecause the T20 World Cup is played close to our home, in England, we expect a big orange crowd and a lot of support. Using the same group of players, the team will sharpen their tournament preparation through a T20I tri-series in Scotland that also includes Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>In the World Cup, the Netherlands have been placed in a pool alongside India, Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
