Finn Allen smashed an unbeaten hundred as Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in their IPL 2026 encounter on Friday. Chasing a modest target, KKR cruised to 143 without needing the full quota of overs, finishing on 142\/2 in 14.2 overs and keeping plenty of momentum in the chase thanks to an unbroken finishing stand with Cameron Green.<\/p>\n

Delhi Capitals set the target<\/h2>\n

Batting first, Delhi Capitals were held to 142\/8 from their 20 overs. Kartik Tyagi and Anukul Roy were the key contributors with two wickets each, doing the damage at crucial moments to limit KKR\u2019s scoring options early on and ensure Delhi stayed within a chaseable range.<\/p>\n

KKR\u2019s chase led by Allen and Green<\/h2>\n

  1. KKR reached the required total in 14.2 overs, ending the match with eight wickets in hand.<\/li>\n
  2. Allen anchored the innings with an unbeaten century, striking 10 sixes and adding five more boundaries in his knock.<\/li>\n
  3. His fifty came off 32 deliveries, and from there he accelerated, needing just 15 further balls to reach three figures.<\/li>\n
  4. Allen and Cameron Green carried the chase through together, with their unbeaten partnership of 33* helping KKR get over the line with 34 balls remaining.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The win continued KKR\u2019s late-season surge, making it their fourth straight victory after an earlier stretch of five consecutive defeats had left them struggling. The result has provided a notable lift to their playoff prospects and reignited confidence inside the dressing room.<\/p>\n

    Green explains the milestone moment<\/h2>\n

    After the game, Green detailed how he helped Allen get to the hundred when only a small number of runs were needed for the finishing touch. Speaking on Jiohotstar, he said the conversation was simple: \u201cNothing really. I think, Finn, all he said was, \u2018See you next over.\u2019 So yeah, that\u2019s basically what I tried to do. I was just at the other end playing second fiddle. I think I did the match when we had 29 to get. So yeah, I knew I\u2019d be the most hated man in Kolkata if I did anything else apart from that (giving the single to Allen).\u201d<\/p>\n

    Green also added that Allen\u2019s batting awareness helped as well, crediting him for the calculations at the crease. \u201cNo, not us. I was, I did the math. But no, Finn\u2019s very good at maths as well, so I\u2019ll give him credit for that. So, probably, he was probably doing the same. Winning, that\u2019s been the most satisfying,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

    Revival boosts camp belief<\/h2>\n

    KKR\u2019s turnaround has restored optimism among the squad, particularly after they spent a large part of the season near the bottom of the points table.
