Zimbabwe confirm full multi-format series vs Bangladesh: 1 Test, 6 T20/ODI

Zimbabwe will welcome Bangladesh for a complete multi-format tour beginning next month, with Zimbabwe Cricket confirming the plan on Friday, May 22. The schedule features one Test, three One-Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals, split across two venues.

Quick facts

  • Tour confirmed by Zimbabwe Cricket on May 22
  • Formats: 1 Test, 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is
  • Venues: matches spread across Harare and Bulawayo
  • Test: June 28 (one-off), starting in Harare
  • ODIs: July 6, 9 and 11 (same venue as the Test)
  • T20Is: July 15, 17 and 19 (in Bulawayo)
  • Bangladesh’s prior Zimbabwe trip: 2022, when Zimbabwe won both ODIs and T20Is

Bangladesh’s tour begins with a standalone Test match on June 28 in Harare. This will be the first red-ball meeting for the pair since their last Test series in 2025, a contest Zimbabwe initially edged with a memorable win before Bangladesh regrouped to level the series and finish it at 1-1.

After the Test, the teams move into a three-match ODI series staged on July 6, July 9 and July 11. All three ODIs are set to be played at the same Harare venue, keeping the early part of the tour in a single location.

Once the ODI leg ends, the sides will travel to Bulawayo for the T20 portion of the tour. The three T20 Internationals are scheduled for July 15, July 17 and July 19, rounding out the six days of cricket action spread over the two cities.

Context and significance

Bangladesh last toured Zimbabwe in 2022, when the hosts won both the ODI and T20I contests during that visit. This upcoming tour also represents Zimbabwe’s first international assignment since their standout run at the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, where they reached the Super Eights for the first time.

Zimbabwe Cricket’s Managing Director Givemore Makoni said the board is looking forward to a closely fought series across formats. He highlighted that bringing top-level international cricket back to their home grounds follows the momentum generated by the team’s performances earlier this year at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
