With two IPL 2026 matches on Sunday, bowlers and batters alike made their presence felt, and the Orange Cap and Purple Cap charts saw fresh movement at the top. From key wicket hauls to important runs across the league, the day’s performances reshaped the standings in more than one way.
Purple Cap leaderboard
Prince Yadav stood out as the leading bowler in the Punjab Kings (PBKS) versus Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clash, a match PBKS won by 54 runs. In a total of 454 runs being posted, Yadav returned figures of 2 for 25, and the effort added to a remarkable stretch of form. He has now taken at least one wicket in each of the six games he has played, and his two matches from Sunday pushed his season tally to 11 wickets. That matches Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Prasidh Krishna, though Yadav’s economy rate remains the stronger of the two.
Anshul Kamboj continues to lead the Purple Cap standings with 13 wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) has climbed to fifth place. Bishnoi’s rise comes after he picked up a wicket against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), bringing him to ten wickets, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) positioned ahead of him.
After Sunday’s action, RR’s Jofra Archer sits with eight wickets, the same wicket count as four other bowlers, including KKR’s Kartik Tyagi. Tyagi contributed with a 3 for 22 effort against RR in the same round of fixtures.
Orange Cap leaderboard
The top three places in the Orange Cap race have stayed intact, but the overall run-chase momentum has still shifted the order. The earlier No. 1 has slipped to fourth place, while Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad (listed alongside the league’s top-scorers) holds the No. 1 spot. GT’s Shubman Gill and RCB’s Virat Kohli occupy the next two positions. RR batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is now fourth after scoring 46 against KKR.
PBKS’ Cooper Connolly has also climbed the ladder, building on his second major innings of the season. He struck 87 off 46 balls and has moved to sixth place with 223 runs. That total matches RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made 39 against KKR. Connolly’s impact wasn’t the only one from Sunday’s games, as Priyansh Arya—his partner-in-attacking pressure during the same round—has crossed the 200-run mark as well. Arya’s 93 came off 37 deliveries against LSG, taking his season tally up to 15.
