Kolkata Knight Riders batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was ruled out for obstructing the field during the IPL 2026 clash against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday. The call came on the last delivery of the fifth over when Raghuvanshi attempted a run after guiding a ball from Prince Yadav towards the mid-on region. Cameron Green sent him back, but the throw struck Raghuvanshi’s legs as he tried to get out of the way.
Mohammed Shami and LSG captain Rishabh Pant immediately appealed, prompting the involvement of the third umpire. After reviewing the incident, the official concluded that Raghuvanshi had knowingly altered his route while running, preventing the throw from reaching the wicketkeeper. The ruling left the KKR dugout stunned, and Raghuvanshi also exchanged words with the on-field umpires in the aftermath of the decision.
The batter made his frustration clear by hurling his helmet away in anger following the outcome.
Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and chose to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the match played on Sunday.
KKR entered the contest on the back of their first win of the season after seven games, and they kept the XI unchanged from the side that had beaten Rajasthan Royals. Lucknow, meanwhile, were coming off four consecutive defeats and made one alteration to their team, with George Linde coming in for the match under Pant’s leadership.
