Later on, Mohsin Khan shared glimpses of the night on Instagram and described Tendulkar in glowing terms, calling him the “God of cricket”. In his post, he wrote, “An evening with the God of cricket. Blessed!”, while also expressing gratitude to Arjun for arranging the dinner.
While the dinner offered a brief feel-good moment, the IPL context for both franchises is far from comfortable. MI and LSG have both endured difficult spells this season and are now battling to keep their playoff chances alive. Mumbai, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, have recorded only two wins from nine matches and sit close to the lower end of the points table. Their campaign has been further complicated by uneven performances from key figures, including Suryakumar Yadav, and by the absence of Rohit Sharma, who has been ruled out due to injury.
LSG’s situation mirrors that struggle. After a promising beginning, the team lost momentum and eventually sank to the bottom following a sequence of five consecutive defeats. Captain Pant has also come under criticism regarding both his form and his leadership. In their most recent match, Mohsin Khan’s impactful bowling effort of 5/23 stood out, but it ultimately did not translate into victory, as LSG failed to close out the contest.

Hardik Pandya’s captaincy and overall all-round contributions have become talking points, and Suryakumar Yadav has found it hard to turn starts into match-defining scores.
