Yuvraj Singh Teases Gill, Abhishek After Pant Gifts Him Premium Golf Club

Legendary India batter Yuvraj Singh sparked plenty of laughs online after receiving a gift from fellow Indian star Rishabh Pant. Pant, who is set to play a key role for India and also recently mentored youngsters ahead of IPL 2026, had sent Yuvraj a premium golf club as a token of appreciation for the support and guidance Yuvraj had offered during the lead-up to the tournament. But Yuvraj didn’t simply post a polite thank-you—he turned it into a playful, viral-style message aimed at other mentees too.

In the video that has since gone viral, Yuvraj Singh thanked Rishabh Pant and then cheekily hinted that some of Pant’s other protégés didn’t show the same level of generosity. Yuvraj specifically called out players including Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, using the moment to keep the tone light while still making his point.

Rishabh Pant also sent a heartfelt note along with the gift: “Dear Yuvi paaji, thank you for your support and guidance. See you on the golf course. Love RP.” Yuvraj acknowledged the gesture with enthusiasm, but added his own twist by implying that other mentees had missed the opportunity to honour him similarly.

Captioning his Instagram post with the words “Sharam karo” (meaning “Have some shame”), Yuvraj tagged a group of players—Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Abdul Samad, Naman Dhir and Priyansh Arya—turning the message into a fun, wide-ranging call-out rather than a one-on-one tribute.

Yuvraj’s post quickly took off, drawing more than 250,000 likes within a day of going up. The humour also resonated with other cricket personalities, with Rishabh Pant and Afghanistan star Rashid Khan reacting to the video with laughter.

Rishabh Pant’s disappointing IPL 2026

Despite the mentorship and the goodwill off the field, IPL 2026 has delivered a tough run for Pant as captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). It’s been his second consecutive campaign that has gone poorly in terms of results, and the team’s current position reflects that struggle.

Under Pant’s leadership, LSG have suffered six defeats in a row and are sitting at the bottom of the points table at the time of writing. With just two wins from their first nine matches, LSG have effectively been pushed out of contention for the playoffs, even with five matches still remaining.

Pant’s personal batting form has also been well below expectations. Through nine games, he has scored 204 runs, posting an average of 25.50, along with a strike rate of 128—figures that underline a season he and the team would want to turn around quickly.
