Bengaluru Police Warn Fans to Celebrate Responsibly Ahead of RCB vs GT Final

NEW DELHI: With the IPL 2026 final set for Sunday between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, Bengaluru Police have issued a firm public advisory for fans expecting celebrations around the match result. As anticipation grows across the city and RCB look to chase their second title, authorities have asked supporters to mark the occasion responsibly, avoiding any actions that could cause overcrowding, public disorder, or safety risks. The police say enhanced security and traffic planning will be deployed so celebrations remain orderly.

Bengaluru Police have directed citizens not to assemble in public spaces right after the final result. The authority has also prohibited the installation of LED screens facing public roads without prior approval, along with other crowd-facing arrangements that could disrupt normal movement.

  • No public live screenings outside malls, pubs, or other permitted establishments.
  • No firecrackers or hazardous materials during celebrations.
  • No bike rallies, stunts, overspeeding, or road blockades.

  • No fights, public nuisance, or indecent behaviour.
  • Do not spread rumours, hateful content, or provocative posts on social media.
  • Do not provoke or mock fans supporting rival teams.
  • Cooperate with police and traffic officials.
  • Celebrate responsibly while maintaining public order.

Police have also asked malls, pubs, and other venues not to conduct live screenings in locations visible to the general public. A ban has been placed on firecrackers and other hazardous items used for celebration.

Authorities have further moved against activities such as bike processions, speeding, stunt riding, unnecessary honking, and road blockades. The police warned that strict enforcement will be applied against anyone violating the advisory.

Citizens have been urged to refrain from drinking alcohol in public spaces, and to avoid creating disturbances, getting into fights, or behaving in an indecent manner during post-match celebrations. The warning extends to online behaviour as well, with fans asked not to share provocative content, rumours, or hate messages on social media.

Supporters have also been cautioned against targeting or mocking rival-team fans, as such conduct could spark unnecessary confrontations. In a call for unity, Bengaluru Police said keeping safety, peace, and law and order intact during a high-profile final is a shared responsibility and asked everyone to celebrate in a responsible manner.
